Geography GCSE

Building on the foundation of the Key Stage 3 course, GCSE geography continues to develop your interest in the world around you. Topics for study look set to include: Global Hazards, Changing Climate, Distinctive Landscapes, Sustaining Ecosystems, Urban Futures, Dynamic Development, Resource Reliance.

Fieldwork and geographical skills, including map work and other analytical skills are also developed throughout the course.


Exam board: OCR B (J384)

Assessment will be by examination at the end of the course.

Fieldwork and will be assessed through questions on two of the exams.

The physical and human elements are assessed through separate exams and are each 1 hour 30 mins long.

A skills exam which lasts 1 hour 15 mins will test students on the application of knowledge and critical thinking as well as a decision making exercise.
