The Careers Forum provides a fantastic opportunity to meet representatives from a wide range of local businesses, industries, commerce, apprenticeship brokers, further education colleges, universities and the armed forces. This will give you the chance to talk to prospective employers and they will help you understand the range of careers available, open up choices that you may not have considered yet and give you a greater understanding of the qualifications that are required and how to help your son/daughter achieve their chosen career path.
Over the last few years apprenticeships have changed significantly and there are an increasing number of apprenticeships available to young people at 16 and at 18 in a range of different sectors. This year we have secured several apprenticeship brokers to attend this event; to demonstrate the benefits of following an apprenticeship and enable you and your son/daughter to decide if it is a credible option for their future. There will be a presentation about the changes at 5.45pm and 6.30pm in the Hall.
Our annual Careers Forum is an important part of the careers program for all our students from Year 8 to Year 13. To make the most of this opportunity I strongly recommend that parents and carers attend with their son/daughter. Attached is a list of some of the companies who will be present at the event.
I hope you can attend and I am positive you will find the evening useful and informative.
Please return the slip on the below letter to reception by Friday 3rd March 2017. (If you need a printed copy of this letter please contact the school)
