Non Uniform Day and End of Term Arrangements

Non Uniform Day and End of Term Arrangements

Dear Parents and Carers,

Following our successful charity events this term including the shoe box appeal, pink and blue day, and raising money through selling badges and bands for cancer charities, we have responded to our students’ request for a non-uniform day.

Students will be able to donate £1 to come to school on Friday 15th December in non-uniform; they may wish to wear something orange to support the Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

The charities we are supporting this year are:
• The Mayor’s charity – Leicester Children’s Hospital
• Stand Up To Cancer – a national campaign by cancer research to raise cash to fight cancer
• A local charity to be decided by our students

We ask that student refrain from dyeing their hair or wearing items which would pose a health and safety risk (e.g. high heeled shoes).

Thank you in advance for supporting this event and we look forward to an enjoyable day with the money raised going to very good causes.

Christmas dinner will be served on Tuesday 12th, Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th December as one of the menu options in the school canteen. Year groups will go in for early dinners on these days. The cost of the Christmas dinner will be £4.00.

We would also like to make you aware that the Academy will close at the earlier time of 12.30pm on the last day of term, Wednesday 20th December. However, if you wish your son/daughter to remain at the Academy until the usual time of 3.00pm please contact their Head of Year so that we can make arrangements for them. For those on the school bus, this has been arranged to leave at this earlier time. On this day we will also have an extended break time to allow the canteen to serve hot food.

The Academy re-opens on Tuesday 9th January at the normal time.

I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Yours faithfully,

Mr M Wilson
