Information to parents
Please be aware that the Government provides all schools with funding income which is called the Pupil Premium. This is a Government initiative to target resources to support pupil progress and improve life chances.
As you will be aware the Governors and staff of the school always put children first and invest every penny received from the Government into your child’s schooling. To this end and for your information, the pupil premium funding has been spent this year on providing additional resources for the children, investing in outdoor education (trips and visits), additional classes, summer and Easter schools as well as extra teachers and support staff.
This investment will enable your children to make even greater progress at Wigston Academy.
The Wigston page of the Leicestershire’s Police Website gives up to date information and shows appeals/press releases etc for the area. It also shows who and how to contact the local beat officer, local priorities and various other pieces of information.
As part of our e-safety policy please visit the ‘ThinkUknow’ and ‘Jitty’ websites for information and advice regarding Internet Safety for your children.
The Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre is dedicated to eradicating the sexual abuse of children. That means they are part of UK policing and very much about tracking and bringing offenders to account either directly or in partnership with local and international forces.
