BTEC Music Technology helps you to understand how the music industry works. It covers the business side, promotion, performing, composing, production, sound engineering, studio recording and live sound. There are many opportunities to use music technology including sequencing, sampling, recording, mixing, editing and engineering.
COURSE CONTENT
The course has core and optional specialist units. Students must complete the two core units, and a choice of optional specialist units. BTEC Music Technology has units that are assessed in school (internally) and units that Edexcel sets and marks (externally).
ASSESSMENT
• Exam Board: Edexcel
• Individual units will be decided at the commencement of the course, and can be chosen to suit students’ strengths and interests. Assessment is ongoing, and most of the units are coursework based, with one exam and an externally assessed unit in the final year.
