How are the exams structured? | Exam Board: AQA There are four exams at the end of the course: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Each exam is worth 25% of your overall grade. You are entered for the same tier (Foundation or Higher) for all four papers. The Speaking exam is conducted by your class teacher and takes place in April/May at a set date decided by the school. Paper 1 – Listening 35 minutes (Foundation Tier) including 5 minutes reading time 45 minutes (Higher Tier) including 5 minutes reading time. 40 marks (Foundation Tier) / 50 marks (Higher Tier). What do we need to revise? Where should we start? | – Check Show My Homework and complete the tasks set by your teacher. This will help you plan your revision. – Learn the meanings and spellings of key vocabulary for each topic regularly. You may wish to use ‘look, cover, write, check.’ – Learn the spellings and meanings of key verbs in the past, present and future tenses. – Make a list of 10 good structures that you can use for different topics. – Prepare and practise possible answers for all the General Conversation questions – You have been given a copy. – Learn and prepare useful phrases for the Role-Play and Photo card using the practice material you have been given. – Make revision cards – on card or Quizlet – Make Mind-maps |
